Lindsay Arnold Dishes On DWTS25 Premiere With Jordan Fisher: 'The Tango Wasn't Easy For Us' (Exclusive)

If you’re wondering, Lindsay Arnold is still alive and well after last night’s magical performance with partner Jordan Fisher on Dancing With The Stars.

“It was so much fun. He did such a good job,” the pro dancer told us in an exclusive interview today.

But while it was fun and amazing and everything she could’ve possibly dreamed of, Lindsay knows that there’s hard work ahead.

“It was incredible and I’m so proud of him, but it does put a the pressure on to make sure that we keep raising the bar. If you start high, you have to keep going up from there, you can’t go down,” she shared. “We really, really, really want to make sure that we impress every single week because we also recognize that this show is more than just who the best dancer is.”

“We want to prove that he’s not just going to give good dances, but he’s also really in this and he loves this, and he wants America to get to know who he is as a person.”

Lindsay also spoke with JJJ about all the nerves she personally had and taking on the tango for their first dance.

We know that Jordan channels all his nerves into excitement, but for Lindsay, it’s a bit different.

“It’s always a little bit nerve-wracking that first show because you really don’t know what to expect. I don’t know what to expect from the judges, from the other performers, from Jordan…you just don’t know for sure what’s going to happen when the ‘lights, camera, action’ hit and you have to dance.”

She continues, “I will say that I was a little bit less nervous than usual because Jordan does know what it’s like to perform in front of people. he’s incredible singer, he’s an actor, he knows what it’s like to step on stage, but at the same time, he was doing that in something that he hasn’t ever done before so that was a little bit scary…not scary, but I was anxious about it.”

“Sometimes, the energy makes a person go crazy and you lose some of their technical aspects, but for Jordan, it amplified it, which was incredible. For us that meant that we were truly prepared and we’d done our work in that he was ready.”

As for taking on the tango, a dance Lindsay calls one of the hardest to master, for their first week, she admits that it did have some challenges.

“Believe it or not, I know he did great last night and people are like ‘It must have been so easy for him’, but it wasn’t,” Lindsay says. “Tango was incredibly hard and it’s one of the hardest dances, and to give it to us the first week is pretty intense.”

“It’s a hard dance, but at the same time now we have that dance done,” she adds. “We’ve gotten it done and over with and it makes us feel pretty good. We were just so proud of ourselves last night. I was super proud of him, he just rose to the occasion and proved that he’s here to do this thing and give it all he’s got.”

“We had our work cut out for us and he worked hard. Within all of that, and in all the frustration and any obstacles that came our way, we managed to enjoy ourselves and get along and just enjoy rehearsal time together.
