Madelaine Petsch's Cheryl Blossom Gets To Wear Another Color Besides Red on 'Riverdale' Next Week

Cheryl Blossom is known for her red, on red, on red wardrobe and it works for her — however, throughout the upcoming season on Riverdale, you’ll see more colors in her wardrobe — like blue.

Madelaine Petsch spoke to Glamour about Cheryl’s wardrobe and how it reflects her mood on the show, spilling that she’ll be venturing outside of the crimson color many times.

“I’m the only character who’s allowed to wear red on the show, which I find hilarious,” she revealed. “I have some exciting newsin the next episode, I get to wear blue. It’s a big moment for me.”

Last season, Cheryl did wear blue on a few occasions, but not as much as red — and that was all because she’s part of the Blossom family.

“I feel like Cheryl was almost forced to be ‘put together’ all the time, and when she had a hair out of placeor she was wearing white, instead of redyou knew something was about to go down,” Madelaine explained.

“That was because she was so controlled by her parents that they always wanted her to be perfect. I imagined they hired her a hair and makeup team, kind of thing.”

Now, the red in her wardrobe is downplayed — like the rose on her white dress in the premiere ep.

“We’re really playing with different colors but incorporating the red in smaller accessories and details, like my nails or my spider brooch, versus overall being red-on-red-on-red,” she adds. “Although, I still do have those days as well.”
