Trevor Jackson Cast In 'Superfly' Remake, Begins Production In Atlanta

Trevor Jackson has a big new role!

It was just announced that the 21-year-old grown-ish actor was cast in a lead role in the remake of the film Superfly.

Trevor will play Youngblood Priest, while Jason Mitchell has been cast as Eddie.

“With this film, my goal is to honor the lineage of an iconic title that the community has loved for decades,” director Director X said of the movie. “I want to honor it in a way that shows a new generation how black culture continues to be a catalyst for new trends in every area, from fashion to music.”

The cast and crew has already begun production on the film in Atlanta.

“Everyone’s always on the hustle, because you’ve got to be� #Superfly. Day 1 starts in ATL with @iDirectorX, producer @Future and the team of SUPERFLY,” the film’s Twitter account updated with a cast photo.
