'Riverdale' Showrunner Doesn't Want You To Give Up on Bughead

Betty and Jughead are currently broken up on Riverdale…but that doesn’t mean you should give up on them at all.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa recently spoke with Glamour and revealed that the on-screen couple needs to work through their issues before getting back together.

“All of our characters went through a harrowing ordeal in the first half of the season [with Black Hood],” he says. “Even though Bughead broke up, their feelings for each other are very much there�but they’ve got to sort through a bunch of stuff between them.”

Roberto adds that their breakup gives them a chance to actually be friends first.

“In a weird way, they have to become friends again to see if it’s even possible to reconnect,” he adds, promising that “the Bughead saga is far from over.”

Riverdale airs Wednesdays on The CW.
