'Riverdale' To Put on 'Carrie' Musical in Upcoming Episode
Riverdale is going the musical route!
The show just announced that in an upcoming episode, the cast will be staging Carrie: The Musical, directed by Kevin Keller (Casey Cott).
The episode will be a “one-hour, 11-song performance of Carrie: The Musical, an adaptation of the 1976 supernatural thriller” and is billed as “a dark-yet-catchy cautionary tale exploring the gritty realities of small-town high school life.”
Per the cast list, almost all the Bulldogs are in the production, too, even the Serpents!
Here’s what else we know:
- Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) will play Carrie
- Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) and Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) will play Sue Snell and Tommy Ross, who are a couple in the stage production.
- Betty is apparently back with Jughead (Cole Sprouse) by then, too, because in her bio, she gives a special shout out to him.
- Josie (Ashleigh Murray) is still a solo artist
- Betty’s mom Alice, will be Carrie’s mother in the production, too.
