Madelaine Petsch on Kissing BFF Vanessa Morgan on 'Riverdale': 'It's Not Weird At All'

Madelaine Petsch is opening up about Cheryl and Toni on Riverdale, since they’re officially together on the show.

The 23-year-old actress spoke to multiple outlets on the hottest new couple in town and just how much she loves them together.

“From day one you could see that Toni struck a different chord with her,” Madelaine shared with Elle. “You know, from the way that she irked her. Cheryl never really goes head to head with anybody that she doesn’t know. And yet, the first time she met Toni she was going to battle with her.”

She adds, “I think it’s because Toni sparked a fire in her, and an interest and excitement. Then they spend one day together and Cheryl shares her deepest secrets with her…I think that Toni brings a softness to her; and the more the season goes on you really see this beautiful vulnerability and softness to Cheryl.”

So, how is it kissing your real life BFF on screen? There’s really nothing weird about it at all.

“It’s less weird than kissing someone you don’t know,” Madelaine shared with ET about Vanessa Morgan. “I mean, I’d rather kiss my best friend than kiss some random guy.”

She adds, “I just feel like we were more comfortable. We laughed about it just for a second and then we were like, ‘OK, let’s do it!’ And now it’s not weird at all.”
