Trevor Jackson Talks New Movie 'Superfly': 'It's a Timeless Story'

Trevor Jackson suits up in a eye-catching red suit for the premiere of Superfly just ahead of the past weekend at 2018 SCADShow in Atlanta, Ga.

The 21-year-old actor and musician takes on the role of Priest in the remake of the 1972 film.

“It’s an absolute honor, it’s a privilege,” Trevor says of his role. “I have no intention of trying to redo it. I’m just putting my twist on it and tell my version of how I see Priest.

He adds, “I feel like the story of Superfly is a timeless one because it’s about coming from the bottom to the top. That’s what this film is about, and it’s done in a classy way. Priest isn’t a dirty, hateful guy. He’s a good guy and he’s doing what he has to do to survive.”

Trevor is also pictured with his castmates at the LA screening on Sunday (June 10th).

Superfly is out in theaters on Wednesday, June 13th.
