Harry Styles Explains Why He Never Did Drugs While In One Direction

Harry Styles revealed the important reason he never did drugs while he was in One Direction.

The 25-year-old singer explained that he never wanted to risk messing things up for everyone else in the band.

“When I was in the band, it was like, to me, it felt like it was so much bigger than any of us that I kind of felt like, ‘I’m not going to be the one who f–ks it up,’” Harry said in an interview with New Music Daily with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1.

He continued, “So I was like, ‘Now is the time in my life when you probably go out and experiment and do this and you take this and you do that and that’s what you do with your friends.’ So, I was like, ‘I’m not going to do any of that stuff.’”

Harry added that when he started working on his solo career, he felt more comfortable trying new things.

“I was with my friends and we were in Malibu…I felt so safe. It was like, ‘I want to take some mushrooms? I’m going to take some — like now is the time to have fun,” Harry concluded.
