Disney Moves Pixar Movie 'Luca' To Disney+, 'Cruella' & 'Black Widow' To Get Dual Releases

Disney has announced new release plans for some of it’s upcoming movies!

The entertainment company revealed today (March 23) that the upcoming Pixar film Luca is going straight to Disney+ on it’s release day, June 18th.

In addition, the live action Cruella and Marvel’s Black Widow will be released in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access on the same day.

Cruella will be out on May 28th, while Black Widow will finally be out on July 9th.

By leveraging a flexible distribution strategy in a dynamic marketplace that is beginning to recover from the global pandemic, we will continue to employ the best options to deliver The Walt Disney Company’s unparalleled storytelling to fans and families around the world,” Kareem Daniel, Chairman, Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution, said in a statement.

Disney has also shifted the release dates for some other movies: Free Guy on August 13, 2021, Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on September 3, 2021, The King’s Man on December 22, 2021, Deep Water on January 14, 2022 and Death on the Nile on February 11, 2022.
