'Walker' Prequel Series In Development With Executive Producer Jared Padalecki

Another Walker series could be coming to The CW!

It was just announced that a prequel series set in the 1800s is in development, according to THR.

Star Jared Padalecki will executive produce Walker: Independence for the network, from writers Seamus Fahey and Walker showrunner Anna Fricke.

The new series would follow Abby Walker, who begins a quest for revenge after her husband is murdered before her eyes while the couple is heading out West. Along the way, she crosses paths with Hoyt Rawlings, a rogue in search of purpose. Their journey takes them to Independence, Texas, as they form a newfound family who struggles with the world around them.

This isn’t the only prequel series from a Jared Padalecki show in the works… A Supernatural spinoff is also in development.

Walker is currently in the midst of it’s second season on The CW, with new episodes airing on Thursdays at 8pm ET/PT.
