'Gossip Girl' Duo Developing Another Book-to-Screen Adaptation for The CW!

Super producing duo Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are working on bringing another book series to the silver screen!

The pair, who created the original Gossip Girl series adaptation, are developing a new series based on the “Sweet Valley High” books by Francine Pascal, Deadline reports.

Writer and producer on the current HBO Max version of Gossip Girl, Ashley Wigfield, is set to write the new adaptation of Sweet Valley High.

Josh and Stephanie will executive produce through their Fake Empire production company, along with Chernin Entertainment. It will also be a co-production between CBS Studios and Paramount TV Studios.

According to Deadline, Sweet Valley is the town everyone dreams of growing up in. And there’s no better example of that promise than Elizabeth Wakefield. But when her missing twin sister Jessica miraculously returns, it reignites a lifelong rivalry. It falls to new girl Enid Ruiz to discover that someone (or something) is pulling all the strings, but can she convince the twins that putting their personal war aside is the only way to drag Sweet Valley’s dark roots into the California sunshine?

If you didn’t know, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are also executive producers on the Gossip Girl revival, as well as Nancy Drew, it’s upcoming spinoff Tom Swift and Dynasty at The CW.
