Nighttime Spectaculars Returning to Disneyland In April, Electrical Parade Gets New Finale

The nighttime shows are coming back to Disneyland for the first time in two years!

Four of the Anaheim, Calif., nighttime spectaculars have set return dates, marking their returns since the parks closed in March 2020 due to the pandemic.

Making their way back are the Main Street Electrical Parade, World of Color at Disney California Adventure, Disneyland Forever fireworks show and Fantasmic!

In addition, the Electrical Parade will be getting a new grand finale in honor of it’s 50th year.

For the parade, guests will be introduced to the new finale that celebrates togetherness in a new seven segment float, that stretches 118 feet in length.

The float draws inspiration from the original design of the Main Street Electrical Parade floats and Mary Blair‘s art style on “it’s a small world.” There will be more than a dozen Disney and Pixar films brought to life, making it one of the longest and grandest sequences in the parade’s 50 year history.

According to Disney, these stories will be “interpreted in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sound, with unique representations of beloved characters as animated dolls.”

Guests on each side of the parade will see different stylized scenes from many stories including Encanto, The Jungle Book, Raya and the Last Dragon, Mulan, Brave, Coco and more. It will also bring back the Blue Fairy character from Pinocchio and a 19-foot tall representation of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The Main Street Electrical Parade, World of Color and the Disneyland Forever fireworks show will all return on April 22nd, while Fantasmic! will be back on May 28th.

Also to note, the parade and the fireworks show will only be available for a limited time. From April 22nd to late spring, the Disneyland Forever show will only take place from Friday-Sunday, while the Mickey’s Mix Magic projections-only show will will be scheduled for Monday-Thursday. The fireworks show will then be nightly in the summer.

Upon reopening, Fantasmic and World of Color will return to their regular schedules.
