The title “tackles anxiety through its 17-year-old protagonist, Aza Holmes. It’s not easy being Aza, but she’s trying… trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, and a good student, all while navigating an endless barrage of invasive, obsessive thoughts that she cannot control. When she reconnects with Davis, her childhood crush, Aza is confronted with fundamental questions about her potential for love, happiness, friendship, and hope in the face of her mental illness.”

Cree will star as Daisy, Felix will play Davis and Isabela stars as Aza.

“Both their auditions blew me away. I am not a casting director (please see my twitter bio), but the person who IS casting the movie, Rona Kress, is amazing. So excited that @CreeCicchino and @itsfelixwot will be part of the movie!” John shared on Twitter.

“I am so, so thrilled that @isabelamerced is going to be Aza in @hannahmarks’s adaptation of Turtles All the Way Down,” he tweeted after Isabela‘s casting was announced a few weeks ago.

Hannah Marks will serve as director, with a script by Love, Victor and How I Met Your Father duo Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who will produce alongside John Green.

This is just the latest screen adaptation of John Green‘s bestselling novels, following “Looking For Alaska,” “Paper Towns” and “The Fault In Our Stars.”
