TikTok Is Testing a Private Dislike Button for Comments

TikTok is testing some new features!

In an announcement on Wednesday (April 13), the company said that they would be trying out a feature that allows users to “dislike comments” they deem “irrelevant or inappropriate.”

The move is intended to help users “feel more in control over comments,” according to the platform. Whereas downvoting is visible to everyone on sites like Reddit, TikTok’s feature will only be visible to the person who hit dislike as a way to ensure there’s no “ill-feeling” between commenters.

“This community feedback will add to the range of factors we already use to help keep the comment section consistently relevant and a place for genuine engagement,” TikTok said.

Earlier this year, TikTok confirmed that they would be making another big change to the platform. Check it out!
