Lili Reinhart Defends Calling Out Kim Kardashian Over Met Gala Weight Loss Comments

Lili Reinhart‘s comments about Kim Kardashian are seemingly getting backlash.

The 25-year-old Riverdale actress called out the The Kardashians star after she revealed she lost weight to fit into her 2022 Met Gala dress.

If you missed it, Kim wore Marilyn Monroe‘s “Happy Birthday Mr. President” dress, and she told Vogue that she lost 16 lbs in three weeks just to fit into it.

The next day, Lili, who has been very vocal about body positivity and her own struggles with body dysmorphia, took to her Instagram story to comment on how toxic Kim‘s words were.

“To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala. When you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word. The ignorance is other-worldly disgusting,” she wrote. See her full statements here.

Later that night after seemingly receiving some backlash, Lili took to Twitter to defend herself and what she said.

“*sigh* I do not say the things that I say because I want to be relevant or get attention. I speak up because I don’t see enough people with large platforms calling out toxic behavior in our industry. Some people will never understand where I’m coming from and that’s okay ☯️🙏🏻,” Lili wrote.
