Knott's Berry Farm Reveals New Chaperone Policy for Teens After Weekend Brawl

Knott’s Berry Farm is implementing a new policy at their park in Buena Vista, Calif.

The theme park in SoCal announced on Wednesday (July 20) that they are implementing a new “Chaperone Policy” for guests 17 and younger.

This new policy comes days after the park was forced to close three hours early on Saturday (July 16) after “unruly behavior and altercations involving a number of teenagers.”

The park’s Twitter account shared the update, adding, “This behavior did not align with our park’s values, and was not the experience we want any guest to have while visiting Knott’s Berry Farm.”

Now, Knott’s has updated their code of conduct to include this new Chaperone Policy, which takes effect THIS Friday (July 22).

“For decades, Knott’s Berry Farm has been a place where families and friends come together to enjoy our one-of-a-kind park. Millions of guests have counted on us for their daily dose of wholesome family fun, and we’re committed to keeping that promise going forward,” they wrote on their website and socials.

“As part of that commitment, the park will implement a chaperone policy beginning Friday, July 22, 2022, remaining in effect on Fridays and Saturdays until further notice,” they continued.

Guests 17 years old and younger will need to be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old in order to be admitted into the park. Each chaperone may accompany up to three guests per day.

“The chaperone must present a valid photo ID with date of birth,” and “must accompany their party during entry, remain with their party at all times during their visit to the park, and be available by phone throughout their stay. Guests ages 17 years old or younger who are found inside the park unaccompanied by a chaperone will be subject to ejection.”

The Chaperone Policy applies to ALL Knott’s Berry Farm and Knott’s Soak City Waterpark ticket and season passholders.
