Get to Know 10 Fun Facts About 'Snow Day' Star Michaela Russell (Exclusive)

Michaela Russell is plotting and scheming in the new movie musical Snow Day!

The young actress will be playing Natalie in the series, Hal’s feisty and cunning little sister, who enlists the help of her friends to take on her arch nemesis, Snowplow Man.

This musical reimagining of the 2000 comedy follows Siblings Hal (Ky Baldwin) and Natalie Brandston (Russell) discover that anything is possible on a snow day when a surprise winter whiteout offers them the chance to break routines, take giant risks and follow their dreams.

Inspired to pursue his crush, Claire Bonner (Shelby Simmons), Hal enlists the help of his best friend, Lane, to help him express his feelings, and Natalie decides she must challenge her arch nemesis, the Snowplowman (Jerry Trainor), if she wants to pull off the task of creating a second snow day. Michaela Russell – 10 Fun Facts

1. My family rescued a boxer pup when I was 8, her name is Lacy and she is the sweetest (and most sassy) girl ever!
2. My favorite ways to spend my time (aside from being on set) is sewing, knitting, cooking, and doing art.
3. I have a younger brother who is an actor as well. Oftentimes people think we are twins, but we’re three years apart!
4. I started dancing when I was 2 years old, and I haven’t stopped since.
5. When kids would ask me what superpowers I wanted to have, I always responded with the power to move and create things with my mind. A few years later, I realized I was just channeling my inner Wanda Maximoff!
6. My favorite college football team is Alabama. My dad had me saying “Roll Tide” since I was a baby. Roll tide!
7. I got gel nails done for the first time a few weeks ago. I love all the fun patterns and designs. It’s like artwork on my nails!
8. I have a funny habit of picking the frosting off of cupcakes. I don’t like frosting.
9. I started gardening two years ago, and I love it! Sungold tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers, and potatoes are things that I love to grow. It always makes me happy to be able to enjoy foods that I planted from a seed.
10. One of my favorite things is to go on bike rides with my family. My dad, my brother, and I will race to see who can bike to the top of the hill fastest, while singing and laughing the whole way!
