McKenna Grace & Asher Angel Sign On for Movie Adaptation of Katie Cotugno's '99 Days'

McKenna Grace and Asher Angel are bringing characters from Katie Cutugno‘s hit novel 99 Days to life in a new movie.

The 16-year-old A Friend of the Family actress and 20-year-old Shazam! star will share the screen in the big screen adaptation of the teen romance.

Deadline confirmed the news and shared some details about the roles that the two actors would play.

McKenna will bring a character named Molly to life. She finds herself in a love triangle involving two brothers and breaks one’s heart when she chooses the other. Asher will play Gabe – the brother she chose.

They’ll work with director Martha Stephens, who also wrote the script alongside Shannon Bradley-Colleary. Alloy Entertainment is handling production.

“We are so excited to see Mckenna, Asher and Martha bring this incredible screenplay to life,” producer Elysa Koplovitz Dutton told the outlet. “Molly is a character audiences will see in themselves and fall in love with.”

The news comes just a few weeks after Asher reacted to fans pushing for him to land a role in a live action movie.
