TikTok Star Khaby Lame Will Make Directorial Debut with Short Film, Will Premiere at Film Festival

The 23-year-old TikTok star is well known on the app for his life hack and comedic videos, and now he’s getting into the film business with his first short film, and it’s set to debut at a film festival.

Details on the short film are being kept mum, but Khaby is currently creating, producing and directing the piece.

The short film will debut at the upcoming 2023 Taormina Film Festival, as invited by Bella Thorne “in her capacity as curator of the event’s “influential shorts” gala evening, alongside festival co-artistic director Barrett Wissman,” according to THR.

“I am so excited to be invited by @bellathorne and @barrettwissmnaofficial to have my directorial debut at the @taorminafilmfestival on June 27th in Taormina!” Khaby shared on his Instagram story.

“Extremely creative and beyond current are Khaby’s strengths, I am blessed he is adding his voice to the exceptional evening I am putting together,” Bella said in a statement.

“We are very thrilled to bring Khaby to Taormina for the festival. It is imperative for us to always be developing younger, fresh audiences through new media. Khaby helps us to bring diverse, young, international and Italian fans to our historic festival,” Barrett Wissman added.

Khaby is currently the most followed person on TikTok, with over 150 million followers.
