TikTok is adding another new way to create content on their platform!

The video-based app has announced on Monday (July 24) that they are introducing text posts, a new format to broaden how creators share content.

The new text post feature joins the likes of features like LIVE, photos, duets and stitch.

“Text is the latest addition to options for content creation, allowing creators to share their stories, poems, lyrics, and other written content on TikTok – giving creators another way to express themselves and making it even easier to create,” TikTok shared in their announcement.

How to make a text post? Simply go to the camera page where you would normally start to make a TikTok, and you can choose one of three options – video, photo or text. Select text and it will take you to the text creation page.

Then, there will be familiar features for post creation, including tagging a location, adding a sound, enabling comments or allowing duets.

While creating a text post, you can use stickers, tags and hashtags, change the background colors, add sound and similar to a video post, you can save as a draft or discard.
