'The Hunger Games' Director Talks Differences Between Katniss Everdeen & Lucy Gray Baird

Francis Lawrence is opening up about what makes his leading lady characters different between his two The Hunger Games projects.

The director helmed the original four movies and is returning for the upcoming prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

In a newly release interview, Francis shared some differences between Jennifer Lawrence‘s Katniss Everdeen and Rachel Zegler‘s Lucy Gray Baird.

“Katniss was an introvert and a survivor,” Francis tells Empire magazine. “She was quite quiet and stoic, you could almost say [she was] asexual. Lucy Gray is the opposite. She wears her sexuality on her sleeve, [and] she really is a performer.”

“She loves crowds,” he added about Lucy. “She knows how to play crowds and manipulate people.”
