Iain Armitage Reflects On First Day of 'Young Sheldon' After Wrapping Final Season

That’s a wrap on Young Sheldon, star Iain Armitage has revealed!

The 15-year-old actor and star of the Big Bang Theory prequel series marked the final day of filming on the show’s seventh and final season on Tuesday night (April 16), with a post on his Instagram story.

The next morning, he shared a longer post, reflecting on his first day of filming when he was eight and what he would tell his younger self.

Keep reading to see what he said…

“Today was our last day of filming @youngsheldoncbs,” he wrote on his story. “What a joy, honor and a privilege ❤️”

On another slide, he posted a photo of the studio lot at sunset, writing, “End of the day, driving [off] the lot for the last day of filming @youngsheldoncbs – I’ve loved it here at Warner Brothers ❤️”

The next day, Iain shared a photo of his eight-year-old self on the first day of filming years ago, looking back on his time on the show.

“This is 8 yr old me getting ready to film the very first scene I did as Young Sheldon,” he wrote. “@melissapeterman recently asked what I would go back and tell my younger self. Maybe I wouldn’t tell him anything and I would just let life unfold as it does, but I think he’d be so surprised and happy to see where we are now. I sure am. I don’t think this kid could have anticipated what it would feel like to film our final scene all these years later. Thank you, amazing crew, past and present, and those who have been there the whole time. I love you all so much!”

Just a few days before, Iain and his co-stars chatted up the series at a PaleyFest panel discussion.

Young Sheldon‘s seventh and final season is currently airing on Thursday nights on CBS. Later this year, a new spinoff of the show will premiere!
