Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall Calls The Band Her 'Saving Grace'

Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall Calls The Band Her 'Saving Grace'

Jade Thirlwall is opening up in a brand new interview about how being put in Little Mix was her “saving grace”.

In The Guardian’s The Weekend magazine, the 27-year-old singer is featured as a celeb look-a-like and talked about how she looked up to Diana Ross when she was growing up.

“I’m Arab, and when I was growing up there weren’t many famous people who looked like me. Maybe that’s another reason why I latched on to Diana – she was the closest I could get to seeing myself represented,” Jade says.

She adds, talking about how when Little Mix came along, it was the best thing for her.

“People think that girl band members are competitive, but my saving grace was being put in a group where we supported each other and gave each other confidence boosts,” Jade shared. “We were so young when we won, and very naive. Early on, the record company called us in for a meeting and told us that we had to stop walking around in onesies and Ugg boots because we were making them look bad. We just laughed.”

Jade also opened up about how when the band first started, she was met with body issues.

“On one of our first photoshoots, the magazine Photoshopped my nose, which gave me such a complex,” she says. “Suddenly I thought: is that how I’m supposed to look? For years afterwards, I wanted a nose job, and then a boob job. I still have days where I have a breakout and I feel like sh**, but I get over it. Now I’m happy with my ‘fashion’ tits; I’m happy with my face. I look in the mirror and I see someone I love.”

Just recently, the girls revealed that they once hated their band name, too!

Jesy eventually gave up and just walked away from her house, while Jade and Leigh Anne had the top two. Watch below to find out who won!

Little Mix recently tested their knowledge on Christmas songs.

Earlier this month, they also shared the music video for their original Christmas track “One I’ve Been Missing”.

Little Mix's International Fans Are Upset About 2020 Tour Announcement

Little Mix just announced a new summer tour for 2020, but left many Mixers disappointed.

The hit girl group – Leigh Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall – revealed dates throughout June and July, only in the UK.

Fans from the United States, Australia, New Zealand and across the world took to the comments on their Instagram announcement post to express their frustration that Little Mix is touring the UK again and not going international.

“You don’t need another UK tour 😭 everybody know you there. THE WORLD OUTSIDE UK NEEDS TO SEE U,” one fan wrote.

“Once again..not in America 🙄,” wrote another.

“Once again I am extremely disappointed. This could’ve been an opportunity to come and tour Australia and New Zealand. No offence to the UK Mixers, but they’ve had a LM5 tour and we get nothing, not even a proper apology or new dates 😟😢,” a fan expressed.

While there were fans that were upset they weren’t coming to their town or country, some fans found the positive.

“yessssss! but none local to me so guess who’s travelling up and down the country 😂,” a fan shared.

“US dates please! If not, no worries, I’ll fly my a– to the UK lol 😘,” another said.
