Francis has been gone from Reign for so many days that we’ve lost count (in reality, we don’t want to count them, because we loved him).

However, during last night’s episode, he kind of reappeared on the series.

Mary (Adelaide Kane), who’s trying to actually save Lord Darnley from being assassinated by Queen Elizabeth’s raid on Scotland, argues with him about keeping him in a safe house versus having him at their actual engagement party.

He doesn’t listen, obviously, as goes to the party.

Mary figures out why she’s been pulling away from her betrothed — because of Francis!

See, Mary already had a husband (Francis, played by Toby Regbo) that she loved very much, and watched him get murdered right in front of her. She can’t go through that again – she can’t fall for Darnley (Will Kemp).

However, Darnley reassures her that this won’t happen to them — um, really? Has he not watched this show or read history?

In the end, Mary and Darnley truly connect through this. Looks like next week a wedding is happening? Or, you know…just war.

Reign is premiering in a total of five days…FIVE DAYS!

Star Adelaide Kane recently opened up about the final season, what’s going on with Mary and more.

“I think this is our best season,” she shared right off the bat in her interview with Melty. “I remarry, so we meet my second husband, and also my future third husband, he becomes a friend and confidant and helps me through a difficult period.”

She added, “I do not know if this is a spoiler or if people are already aware…It’s history anyway so I’ll pretend it was not a spoiler, but Mary gets pregnant and gives birth to a little boy, the future King James.”

Adelaide also dished on some actual spoilers: “Someone gets sick. Someone, in the new season, falls ill and goes mad, just like King Henry II… I can not tell you who [though]. I’m [as Mary] going to have problems, but someone gets crazy, really crazy.”

When asked if she had the power to bring one character back to the show, Adelaide didn’t hesitate one bit in spitting out Francis, played by Toby Regbo.

“Francis. Of course Francis! My new husband would not be here, he would disappear in a mysterious way! (Laughs).”

The Reign star has reunited with most of her cast mates at the Empire Convention in Paris, France — including Toby Regbo and just shared possibly the cutest picture ever of her with him!

Reign will kick off it’s fourth and final season this April on the CW and will center on Mary’s rivalry with her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I (Rachel Skarsten).

Like many fans, JJJ isn’t handling the news about Reign being cancelled well. We’re actually freaking out!

Former stars Toby Regbo, who played Francis, and Torrance Coombs, who played Bash, headed to social media to react to the news.

“I hear that Reign is coming to an end. I just want to say again what a pleasure it was working with such an amazing cast and crew. The best,” he wrote.

Toby adds, “And obviously all you guys who watched it and loved it. You’re also the best.”

Torrance also shared a thank you to the fans who watched: “Thank YOU guys for making Reign the success that it was. It will forever be one of the great experiences of my life.”

Mary (Adelaide Kane) can’t control her tears in this new still from Reign.

In “The Price”, after Mary receives an urgent message from her ailing mother (Amy Brenneman) about the dire situation in Scotland, she finds herself looking to Francis (Toby Regbo) for aid.

Catherine (Megan Follows) finds herself up against Narcisse (Craig Parker) as she fights to become the regent to Charles (Spencer MacPherson). Meanwhile, Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) faces continued pressure to wed.

“The Price” airs TONIGHT, Friday, November 6th @ 8PM ET/PT on The CW.

Francis (Toby Regbo) gets down on one knee for Mary (Adelaide Kane) in this sweet new still from Reign.

In “Extreme Measures”, when King Antoine (Ben Aldridge) unexpectedly returns to Court, Mary must help Francis hide his weakening condition long enough to secure his family’s future. With the Throne in jeopardy and time running out, they must turn to an unlikely ally in need of redemption.

The episode teases Francis’ upcoming death that showrunner Laurie McCarthy confirmed was indeed coming this season.

Meanwhile, Francis moves closer to Lola (Anna Popplewell) after a setback with Mary, while King Antoine (Ben Aldridge) makes Kenna (Caitlin Stasey) an interesting offer.
