Surfer Bethany Hamilton is Engaged!

Bethany Hamilton is set to tie the knot with her boyfriend of one year Adam Dirks!

The 23-year-old pro surfer announced the exciting news on her blog on Tuesday (May 7).

“The first thing we did was jump off a cliff together!” she wrote of first meeting him. “And you could say it was love at first cliff jump. We started hanging out often. Just as friends � hiking, beach, tennis, hanging with friends � getting to know each other! The more time we spent together the more I liked Adam.”

“I was stoked when I asked Bethany‘s parents blessing to ask her hand in marriage,” Adam wrote of his April 9th proposal. “They were overjoyed and gave their permission! My parents and family were also in approval!”
