What Do The Rest of R5 Think About The Driver Era?

Fans had a ton of questions about Ross and Rocky Lynch‘s new music project, The Driver Era, when it was first announced.

The biggest question — what the rest of R5 (Riker, Rydel and Ellington) thought about it all.

Speaking with Billboard about it, Ross and Rocky assure everyone that they’re okay about it all.

“Everyone’s really into it, actually,” Ross explained. “Everyone is super supportive. We’ve always had a family dynamic, it’s always been love and support.”

He adds, “A big part of that is the fact that Rocky and I live together, and we’re in the studio every single day. We’re writing songs and working hard on this craft that we’ve honed in an and wanna continue to hone in on and perfect, which is songwriting and anything sonically really.”

“It feels organic and natural right now for it to be the main focus of The Driver Era.”

Moving on from R5 wasn’t a light decision, but it was a move in the right direction; and their family will always be supportive.

“We’ve all been playing music together for 10+ years. We’ve created such a bond that’s really electric on stage,” Ross adds. “I think that was the main appeal of R5, and that’s why a lot of people like us to this day. That’s how we sustained all of the energy we created 5 years ago.

“We don’t wanna tarnish that at all. We’re currently brainstorming ways on how to involve that same energy and dynamic into The Driver Era.”

But no need to freak out just yet — R5 is not ending, they’re just starting something new; and yes, that means new music!

R5 is now The Driver Era, a brand new era with Ross and Rocky Lynch writing, performing, and producing most of the tracks.

“We have completely different ideas and goals at this point in our lives,” Ross shares in a statement.

Rocky adds, “We are, of course, evolving and it’s natural to move forward with a new sound and outlook.”

The Driver Era will “capture a certain classic feeling while looking toward tomorrow” and will conjure up “every romantic association with heading out on the open road: limitless possibility, the thrill of escape, a refusal to stay in one place for any real length of time.”

JJJ can tell you that the debut single, “Preacher Man”, is coming REALLY REALLY SOON!

On top of “Preacher Man” and the accompanying music video, other songs fans can look forward to include “Afterglow” and “Flexible”.

Ross & Rydel Lynch Join Ellington Ratliff for Epic 'Belgium Candy Challenge' (Video)

Ross Lynch, Rydel Lynch, and the rest of their band R5 recently visited Belgium, so of course they had to test out as many local sweets as they could.

Ross and Rydel teamed up with her beau Ellington Ratliff for a hilarious video she posted on her YouTube channel.

In it, the trio rocks fun hats and gives ratings to an assortment of Belgium treats.

Our favorite part might be when Ross starts singing and dancing with his food around the 10-minute mark, but there are so many good ones.

Rocky and Riker join in on the fun later on as well.
