Charli D'Amelio Opens Up About the Pressure of Dating In The Public Eye

Charli D’Amelio is speaking about being a public figure at a formative age.

The 16-year-old most followed person on TikTok opened up in a new interview about anxiety, fame and what it’s like dating in the public eye.

“Honestly, having people involved in your relationships can break it. It can really tear who you are down as a person,” Charli told ET‘s Keltie Knight. “When you start noticing yourself getting into that place where you’re like ‘Wow, these people are more invested in seeing us fail than they want to actually see us be happy together.”

“It can be really detrimental, and you just have to stay true to yourself. It happens with friendships, relationships… everything.”

Charli was dating fellow TikTok star Chase Hudson, but the couple announced their split towards the beginning of the pandemic in April. They remain on good terms and are still good friends, often being seen hanging out together!
