Joe Jonas & Becky G To Help a TikTok Star Become a Popstar In New MTV Series

Joe Jonas and Becky G are judging a new music competition series on MTV – Becoming a Popstar!

Along with choreographer Sean Bankhead, the trio will judge as artists popular on TikTok showcase their talent and compete to win the chance to star in a new Pepsi commercial, which will air during the MTV VMAs.

According to Deadline, “Each week, contestants will create original themed songs and accompanying one-minute music videos on air, that will first be available on TikTok. With episode themes like ‘The Duets’, contestants will be paired off to create an original song and visual performance. Contestants will be critiqued by the celebrity judges, with eliminations occurring each week until two final artists are chosen to battle it out in a finale special.”

Becoming a Popstar is from a combined effort between MTV, TikTok and Pepsi. The beverage company will also be providing funding and resources to the winner to help with their career ambitions!
