OlderAriana Grande & Cynthia Erivo React to Jonathan Bailey's 'Wicked' Casting
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are welcoming in a new co-star to the cast of the Wicked movies!
The two star as Glinda and Elphaba in the long-awaited film adaptation, and it was just announced this week that Jonathan Bailey has been cast as both of their love interest, Fiyero.
After it was reported he was in talks for the role, director Jon M Chu then confirmed it’s true.
“He’s perfect, they’re perfect. They’d be perfect together. Born to be forever….. I am too excited to pretend this hasn’t been happening. We have a Fiyero!!!! #JonathanBailey #Wicked,” he wrote on Twitter, quoting Fiyero’s song “Dancing Through Life.”

On her Instagram story, Ariana shared the exciting news, writing, “Oh what a celebration we’ll have today,” in all caps, along with several exclamation points. This is a quote from one of her lines in the Act II song “Thank Goodness.”

Ariana also shared a photo of her and Cynthia‘s feet/ballet slippers from rehearsals.
Cynthia shared a photo collage of the trio and captioned it, “💕🫧🫧🤴🏻🪣💦💚”
Jonathan also commented on the news, captioning a post, “Dancing through. 🇨🇦 💚”
