Ruth Codd in the Midnight Club

Ruth Codd – 10 Fun Facts

  • 1. Raisins in cookies enrage me to my core. Anyone who eats them on purpose deserves jail time.
  • 2. I have 2 dogs, both rescues. A massive lab called Rocky. He has no brain nor thoughts. His nickname is the blonde calf. I also have Betty, she was a street dog in the Dominican Republic. I adopted her when she was ten. Her hobbies include barking at everything, terrorizing children and eating out of trash cans. She comes everywhere with me, including to work. Rocky can’t come to set because he doesn’t know how to act and my parents would miss him too much. Also because he enjoys running into everything at full force.
  • 3. My favourite book is “The Hearts Invisible Furies” by John Boyne. I adore how he sprinkles such dark, poignant stories with impeccable humour. If you want to understand psyche, read his books.
  • 4. I’ve had a toy seal since I was born, called Mr. Seal. He comes everywhere with me. I can’t sleep without him. The Christmas hat on his head is no longer because Rocky ate it.
  • 5. Bananas are the most horrid food on planet earth and anyone that eats them in their raw form needs help.
  • 6. Before I lost my leg I used to horse ride competitively. I grew up around horses and absolutely adore them. They’re such beautiful, intelligent animals. The partnership and bond between you and your horse really is like nothing else, it requires a lot of work and trust but is so rewarding. It’s like you share a brain almost. My horse Jake, is living out his retirement on my Dad’s farm. I’ve had him since he was a baby.
  • 7. That ties into my next random fact, I have one leg and no toes. Both overrated parts of the body anyway and turns out, you don’t really need them. You also get all the good parking spaces.
  • 8. My acting debut was as the star of the north in my school nativity play. In front of my entire school, parents and teachers. Was a very unfortunate time to learn I suffer from stage fright. I forgot my lines. I cried. It was very embarrassing. I don’t want to talk about it. (I did however redeem myself with a cracking performance as Villager no.4. a few years later)
  • 9. I’m Uber Eats’ most loyal customer and deserve shares in the company at this point.
  • 10. As regards ambitions for my acting career I want to work with The Rock. Dwayne, if you’re reading this, please reply to my messages on Instagram. I will work for the small fee of 5 million dollars.
