Avatar's Trinity Bliss, Julia Michaels & More to Star In Build-A-Bear Christmas Movie

Trinity Bliss and Julia Michaels are set to star in the first ever animated movie from Build-A-Bear!

The Avatar: The Way of Water actress and the Grammy nominated singer/songwriter are among the star-studded cast of the Christmas movie, Glisten and the Merry Mission.

This is the stuffed animal company’s first animated Christmas film, and will be based on their best-selling holiday plush.

Glisten and the Merry Mission follows a young elfling Marzipan (Bliss) and her mother Cinnameg (Michaels) as Marzipan must believe in the magic of the season as she goes on the adventure of a lifetime to rediscover the enchanted snow deer named Glisten and save Christmas. Their mission is aided by a colorful cadre of reindeer and elves, including the wise Sage Evergreen (Dionne Warwick).

Also cast in the movie are Billy Ray Cyrus as the reindeer Donner; Chevy Chase as Santa; Freddie Prinze Jr as Crumble Starsnaps, Santa’s workshop manager; Cheer‘s Morgan Simianer as Estrellastar, the workshop elf; Tim Johnson Jr as Egard, the workshop elf; Michael Rappaport as Grizz, the village grizzly bear with a tough reputation; and Reginald VelJohnson as Snowy Owl, according to Deadline.

“We are truly excited about this incredible opportunity to bring our beloved Glisten snow deer character to life in this beautifully animated interpretation of the Merry Mission story, especially with this dream cast. The journey of Santa and the reindeer along with our adorable emboldened elfling Marzipan, who finds a way to assure all of the kids receive a toy made with heart on Christmas eve, is sure to delight holiday fans,” Build-A-Bear President and CEO Sharon Price John said in a statement. Sharon will also serve as an executive producer and co-writer.

The movie began production earlier this month.
