Sofia Carson Performs Nominated Song 'Applause' During Oscars 2023 with Diane Warren

Sofia Carson delivers a beautiful version of her song “Applause” during the 2023 Oscars held at Dolby Theatre on Sunday evening (March 12) in Hollywood.

The 29-year-old singer and actress was of course joined by songwriter Diane Warren, who played piano during the performance, which was the first of the night from the Best Original Song nominees.

Diana is up for her 14th nomination this evening for the song, featured in the film Tell It Like a Woman.

“Our song is an anthem for women, from the powerful film ‘Tell It Like A Woman’. A film directed by women, about women, for everyone. A beautiful and deeply timely reminder to applaud ourselves for how far we’ve come, and to applaud ourselves for how far we will go. Because we fight like women, we survive like women, and we do it together,” Sofia previously shared of the song. “On behalf of all women, thank you, Diane, for giving us Applause…”
