Rachel Zegler to Play Antonio Banderas' Daughter in 'Paddington In Peru'

Rachel Zegler is joining the cast of the upcoming third Paddington movie, Paddington in Peru!

The 22-year-old actress has been in the movie alongside Antonio Banderas, who will be playing her father, Oliva Colman and Emily Mortimer, who are all also new to the cast.

They join previously announced Ben Whishaw and Hugh Bonneville, who are both set to return. Also reportedly in talks to return for the third film are Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, and Imelda Staunton.

“really big fan of bears, marmalade sandwiches, and everything olivia colman has ever said. so you can imagine my excitement,” Rachel shared of the news on Instagram.

She also shared a couple of throwback pictures, proving manifestation works!

“one thing about me is imma manifest,” she tweeted with a picture of her shaking hands with Olivia at the 2022 Oscars.

“AGED LIKE A FIN WINE,” Rachel wrote, quote tweeting herself from 2020. The original post featured a photo of a Paddington bear statue, where she wrote, “replace all statues with paddington having a snack, you cowards”

According to Deadline, Paddington in Peru will “follow Paddington as he returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru.”

Antonio will play Hunter Cabot, “dashing and intrepid riverboat captain who offers to help the Brown family on their Peruvian adventure,” while Rachel plays his daughter Gina.

Olivia has been cast as The Reverend Mother, “a blithe and sunny guitar-playing nun who runs the Home for Retired Bears.”

Emily will be replacing Sally Hawkins as Mrs. Brown.

Dougal Wilson will make his directorial debut. Filming is slated to begin July 24th, with filming taking place in the UK, Peru and Colombia.
