First Look Photos Unveiled for Ashley Liao & Ross Butler's 'Love In Taipei'

Paramount+ has just debuted the first look for the upcoming YA romance movie Love In Taipei!

Ashley Liao and Ross Butler lead the cast of the new film, which is based on Abigail Hing Wen‘s novel “Loveboat, Taipei.”

The upcoming movie was first announced in November 2021, and in early June 2023, it was announced it was going to premiere on the streamer.

Here’s a full synopsis: Ever Wong’s (Liao) summer takes an unexpected turn when her parents surprise her with a trip to Taipei for a cultural immersion program. Ever is surprised to discover that she hasn’t signed up for homework and history lessons, but instead for a summer-long free-for-all the locals and other students call “Loveboat.”

It quickly lives up to its name when Ever finds herself trying not to fall for two attractive, but wildly different boys who are vying for her attention, while at the same time finding the courage to defy her parents’ high expectations and pursue her true passion: dancing. 

Ross stars as Rick Woo, an prominent sports and scholastic prodigy, along with Nico Hiraga as Xavier Yeh, a free-spirited artist and heir to an international tech empire; Chelsea Zhang as Ever’s friend Sophie, whom she meets at Loveboat; and Cindy Cheung as Ever’s Aunt Shu.

Ross will also be serving as an executive producer.

Love In Taipei premieres on Thursday, August 11th on Paramount+!

If you didn’t know, “Loveboat, Taipei” has a sequel, “Loveboat Reunion,” and an upcoming threequel, “Loveboat Forever.” Perhaps a film trilogy is on the horizon…
