Paris Jackson is explaining why she did not attend the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, where her aunt Janet Jackson performed a medley and received the Icon Award.
The 20-year-old star shared a statement on her Instagram Story on Monday (May 21) after receiving many comments asking about her whereabouts during the awards show.

“No one from my mgmt reached out to me about attending billboards or about the award, and no one from my family did either. I had absolutely no idea until y’all spammed with hatred,” she wrote.
“Dear social media followers, friends, stalkers, lovers and haters, and fellow moonwalkers: Please do not tell me/demand/try to control how I handle my relationship with the people in my life, specifically my family. As amazing and as s—-y as things can be, it is no one’s business but ours. I understand that some of you feel some sort of connection or need to be apart (sic) of our lives considering you watched us grow up. However, I am handling my situation exactly how my father did. And I am happy keeping it that way. I will always have love and respect for my family. ALWAYS,” she added.
Later, Paris shared a picture with her aunt Janet on Tuesday (May 22).

When fans of Fifth Harmony saw that Camila Cabello and Normani were both performing at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, everyone was hoping for a reunion… and the stars delivered!
The former groupmates met up backstage at the show and posed for a few adorable photos.
Camila was at the show as a nominee and to perform her songs “Sangria Wine” and “Havana.” She also picked up the award for Billboard Chart Achievement! Normani hit the stage for a performance of “Love Lies” with Khalid.

Normani‘s performance with Khalid at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards last nigth was nothing short of amazing.
The two musicians hit the stage to perform their collab “Love Lies” and fans on social media were stunned then, just as much as they are this morning.
“PSA: @Normani is a straight up SUPERSTAR. She’s absolutely mesmerizing when she performs,” digital influencer Ricky Dillon wrote after watching her performance.
Kehlani added, “normani…i don’t have any other words really…take the wheel.”

The pair sang their hot song “Sangria Wine” together at the big awards show, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas.

It’s so great to see Taylor Swift back on stage at awards shows!
The 28-year-old singer, who is in the middle of her reputation Stadium Tour, took a break from the tour life to accept some awards at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas.
Taylor picked up the wins for Top Selling Album for reputation and Top Female Artist.
“I haven’t been to an awards show in a few years and it is so nice to be here tonight,” Taylor said while accepting Top Female Artist. “And it’s so nice to receive female artist. I’m on an all-female artist stadium tour right now, so I have to start out by saying ‘Thank you’ to my tourmates Charli XCX and Camila Cabello.”
Taylor also thanked “all the female artists that paved the way for us.”
When Mila Kunis presented Taylor with Top Selling Album, a video montage was played to highlight all of the milestones that reputation achieved!

Earlier in the evening, the guys won the Top Social Artist award at the show and this is the second year in a row that they’ve received that very honor.
