The first look teaser for the long-awaited Chicken Run sequel Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget has arrived!
Netflix dropped the video on Tuesday (September 5), months ahead of the movie’s release on the streamer.
In addition to the teaser trailer, they also revealed that the villainous character Mrs Tweedy is back, and so is the character’s original voice actress!

Netflix has unveiled it’s upcoming slate of animated movies that will be coming out over the next 18 months!
The streaming service shared new images and details for less than ten upcoming projects.
Most notably among the announcements is a new SpongeBob Squarepants movie focusing on Sandy Cheeks!
A new photo was also unveiled for the upcoming Chicken Run sequel, plus casting and film announcements for seven more animated movies that will be coming to the streamer.

Netflix has just announced the title and revealed the first look photo for the upcoming Chicken Run sequel!
The new movie is called Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget and will debut in 2023 on the streamer.
News of the sequel was first announced back in 2020 on the 20 year anniversary of the first film’s release.

Chicken Run is getting a sequel for Netflix!
The studio that made the original movie revealed the news on it’s 20 year anniversary, June 23rd.
“Fans around the world have waited patiently for a sequel idea worthy of Chicken Run so we’re delighted to announce, on the 20th anniversary, that we’ve found the perfect story,” Peter Lord, Aardman Co-Founder and Creative Director, said in a statement. “Netflix feels like the ideal creative partner for this project too: they celebrate the film-maker, which means we can make the film we want to make – the one we really care about – and share it with a global audience.”
Netflix UK also confirmed the news in a tweet, “POULTRY NEWS: Exactly 20 years to the day since the original was released, we can confirm there will be a Chicken Run sequel coming to Netflix!! Produced by @aardman, production is expected to begin next year. Eggsellent.”
Here’s a synopsis for the sequel: Having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy’s farm, Ginger has finally found her dream – a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world. When she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, Ginger’s happy ending seems complete.
But back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk – this time, they’re breaking in!

The sequel will go into production in 2021 and be released by Netflix.
