The group threw some shade at former member Camila Cabello by throwing the silhouette of a fifth member off the stage before kicking off the performance on Sunday (August 27) in Inglewood, Calif.
As the performance began, five silhouettes appeared at the top of a platform and then one was pushed to the ground. At this moment, the lights went up and Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane, Normani Kordei, and Ally Brooke started singing!
5H has made headlines lately for not wanting to talk about Camila leaving the group any longer as it continuously comes up in interview after interview.
The group, who accepted the award for Best Pop Video earlier in the show, sang their songs “Angel” and “Down.”
Right at the beginning of the performance, the group had 5 silhouettes there — an homage to what the group used to be — before one of them jumped back and disappeared from the stage.
Fans all over social media have major thoughts — and pointed out the shade directed at former member Camila Cabello, who left the group in late 2016.

Fifth Harmony will also be taking the stage tonight, and performing their new hit song, “Down” with Gucci Mane.
Earlier today, both Dinah and Ally shared some throwback pics on their Instagram, showing that performing at the VMAs has always been a dream of theirs.
Check them below!
FYI: Dinah wore a Roberto Cavalli dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and Paul Andrew shoes. Lauren wore a Cushnie et Ochs dress, Neil Lane jewels, and Casadei shoes. Normani dolled up in a labourjoisie dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Brian Atwood heels. Ally wore a Reem Acra ensemble with Borigioni jewelry, and Casadei heels.
“The second they played it for us, we were all so excited about it. We were just so connected to it. It was something we’ve never done before, something we’ve never explored before as a group so it was really cool,” Lauren told MTV.
She added, “It’s something we needed exactly. We needed that edginess because it’s what we like. It’s what we listen to, it’s the kind of vibes we have sometimes. So it’s not always us but it is us so we wanted to give a bunch of different flavors with this album so this is definitely one of them.”
Check out all that Lauren had to say in the video below…
“Were gonna bring so many different elements and surprises and so much energy,” Ally shared with ET. “It’s really gonna be such a moment and people are gonna be gagging!”
And you can also prepared to be amazed by their red carpet style too, even though they don’t know what they’re wearing yet.
“It always happens to us,” Dinah said. “Honestly, we were talking about it in the car on our way here.”
“Being able to connect with the music and just recognizing that you actually believe in what you’re doing,” Normani shared.
“I feel like we almost got our power back and we learned to love music again just because, you know, it reflects our voices and we say everything that we wanna be able to say.”
She adds, “And we know how we want it to sound and we know that in 10 years it’ll mean what it means now to us. It’s still special and it’s something that we will forever be proud of.”
