Original Broadway Production of Hamilton To Stream On Disney+ This July!

Hamilton fans get ready – the original Broadway cast and production will soon be available to watch on Disney+!

It was just announced that the film version of the stage show will beginning streaming starting July 3rd.

“I’m so proud of how beautifully Tommy Kail has brought Hamilton to the screen. He’s given everyone who watches this film the best seat in the house,” Lin-Manuel Miranda said in a statement. “I’m so grateful to Disney and Disney+ for reimagining and moving up our release to July 4th weekend of this year, in light of the world turning upside down. I’m so grateful to all the fans who asked for this, and I’m so glad that we’re able to make it happen. I’m so proud of this show. I can’t wait for you to see it.”

The movie, filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June 2016, was originally supposed to hit theaters in October of 2021!

In light of the extraordinary challenges facing our world, this story about leadership, tenacity, hope, love and the power of people to unite against the forces of adversity is both relevant and impactful,” Bob Iger, Executive Chairman of The Walt Disney Company, said. “We are thrilled to bring this phenomenon to Disney+ on the eve of Independence Day, and we have the brilliant Lin-Manuel Miranda and the team behind Hamilton to thank for allowing us to do so more than a year before planned.”

The original Broadway cast features Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton; Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson; Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler; Leslie Odom, Jr. as Aaron Burr; Christopher Jackson as George Washington; Jonathan Groff as King George; Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton; and Jasmine Cephas Jones as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds; Okieriete Onaodowan as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison; and Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton, as well as Carleigh Bettiol, Ariana DeBose, Hope Easterbrook, Sydney James Harcourt, Sasha Hutchings, Thayne Jasperson, Elizabeth Judd, Jon Rua, Austin Smith, Seth Stewart and Ephraim Sykes.

“Our work here is done!” he wrote after watching the performance. JJJ note: the video you’ll watch is from the Vermont Regionals competition late last year.

'Final Five' Continue Their NYC Tour at a 'Hamilton' Performance

The Final Five strike a pose backstage with some of the cast of Hamilton on Tuesday (August 23) in New York City.

The gold medal-winning teammates – Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Gabby Douglas, Madison Kocian and Aly Raisman – got to check out the hugely popular musical after a busy day in NYC!

The following day, Gabby stopped by SiriusXM Studios to chatted with Hoda Kotb. She recently opened up about her Olympics experience in spite of social media backlash.

“I had fun. Maybe people weren’t being fair on social media, but that’s social media for you. I just found things to be positive about. And there’s a lot to be happy about. We won the gold medal as a team, and it was just such an amazing experience. I came to the Olympics and won a gold medal! That’s still really awesome. I can only do what I can do, and if people want to say their stuff on social media, I can’t stop them,” she explained to People.
