Marnie the dog has sadly passed away.

The Instagram-famous Shih Tzu died on Thursday (March 5), her owner Shirley Braha shared in an Instagram post.

Marnie was famous for her lolling tongue, captured in shots that were enjoyed by her 1.8 million followers.

“It is with much grief I share the news that Marnie passed away painlessly & peacefully in my home on Thursday afternoon at the age of 18,” Shirley wrote. “Her comfort had been notably declining over the past few days with little hope for improvement and she let me know she had had enough. She enjoyed her chicken until the very end.”

“Thank you for joining me on an unexpected journey with the ultimate love of my life,” she continued. “All I can feel right now is loss but beneath that I have so much gratitude. I’m grateful to the universe for entrusting me with her beautiful soul and providing me with the perfect best friend and companion. Im grateful I was able to give this magical creature the fun and deeply loving life she wanted and deserved. I’m thankful I was chosen to be the conduit for Marnie to bring joy into the world. And I’m thankful for all the human and dog friends Marnie and I made along the way, and the strangers on the streets and on the internet, who have shown us so much love.”

“Most of all, I’m amazed that the sweet little hot mess of a pup that I picked up from a shelter at age 11, who at first didn’t seem like she would be around very long at all, has managed to inspire others to adopt senior dogs,” she added. “When I hear from people that Marnie has made them adopt their senior dogs it’s truly the most beautiful legacy she and I could hope to leave in this world.”

“The night of her passing I had a dream where I watched her awake from her death like it hadn’t happened at all, and she was running around at a party completely happy and invincible,” Shirley shared. “She approached a descending staircase and I wanted to interject to protect her from falling, but she sailed right down the stairs and landed on her feet and stopped and looked at me and laughed and just kept going. Maybe this was a message from her from heaven, but at minimum I can take solace knowing that for a long stretch of time, prior to her aging body taking its toll, heaven for her was right here on earth.”

She finished, “Marnie will be buried in a pet cemetery in LA and hopefully there will be a public memorial gathering whenever safe (due to Coronavirus).”

We are incredibly sad to report that not only did Kobe Bryant pass away in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning (January 26), but his 13-year-old daughter Gianna died in the crash as well.

Gianna was also known as GiGi. She was on flight with her dad, representatives for Kobe confirmed to TMZ.

The father and daughter were on their way to the Mamba Academy for a basketball practice when the helicopter crashed, which is located nearby Thousand Oaks.

Our thoughts are with Kobe and Gianna‘s family at this incredibly difficult time.

Celebrities are mourning the sudden loss of basketball legend Kobe Bryant.

The 41-year-old former Los Angeles Lakers player died in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning (January 26) in Calabasas, Calif.

The whole world is currently in a state of shock and many celebs are taking to social media to share their condolences and disbelief.

“nooooo,” Normani wrote on Twitter, adding, “this isn’t real this isn’t real”

“This just crushed me… I’m praying this isn’t true. Rip goat,” Patrick Schwarzenegger wrote.

“i don’t wanna believe this about Kobe 😪,” Hayes Grier shared on Twitter. “RIP to the goat. #24 forever #MambaMentality”

Sydney Park‘s beloved cat has sadly passed away.

The Perfectionists actress paid tribute to her pet on Instagram on Saturday (January 18).

“Diego Purrvera. My second pet, my best friend, and my guardian angel,” Sydney captioned the slideshow of photos below. “Diego was such a gentle soul. He was always willing to give and receive your love & affection. I think I’ve only heard him hiss about three times in his lifetime!”

“You were with us for 16 years… wow,” she continued. “What a kitty. Words cannot express how much I miss you and how I so desperately wish I could cuddle with you one last time. Last night, you transitioned. Come back to me. Come back to me in another life or another life form – and if you have trouble finding me, I’ll see you on the other side.”

“Never a ‘goodbye’, always a ‘see you later’,” Sydney added. “I love you I love you I love you my Dede. Rest easy now dear friend. ❤️ #longlivepurrvera.”

Nerdy Nummies star Rosanna Pansino just shared that her father has sadly passed away.

The YouTuber revealed the news on social media that he died after a six year battle with Leukemia.

“I am heartbroken. Late last night my dad passed away. He had been fighting Leukemia for over 6 years and refused to let his diagnosis stop him from living life, his way, every single day,” she wrote. “I love you Dad. You taught me how to be strong, caring, and to never back down. You made me who I am today and I couldn’t be more grateful.”

Rosanna‘s dad was featured in her videos every once in awhile, most recently for Pi Day last year. Check out the super cute video of the two making pi pizzas.

Jordyn Jones has suffered a devastating loss and we are sending all our love to her in this difficult time.

The 19-year-old singer revealed on social media that her father, Tim Jones, had passed away over the weekend.

“rest in peace dad. i love you 💔💔💔💔,” Jordyn shared on Twitter with a pic of her with her father.

She added the next morning, “first morning waking up without being able to call my dad or hug him. couldn’t sleep til 6am. eventually i just said in my mind “goodnight dad i love you” and i fell asleep dreaming about him ❤️.”

Harry Shum Jr is mourning the loss of a fellow Mortal Instruments family member, Godfrey Gao.

The 35-year-old model and actor, who played Magnus Bane in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, suddenly passed away after collapsing on set.

Harry, who played Magnus in the Mortal Instruments television show, Shadowhunters, shared his sentiments after finding out about his passing.

“I am shocked and heartbroken to hear of Godfrey Gao’s untimely passing. He was a pioneer in the Asian community that stretched our imaginations on what was possible in the industry. To the original Magnus Bane who left us too soon, I hope you know that you made an impression on the world that will last forever. My condolences to his family and friends. #ripgodfreygao,” he shared on Instagram.
