Rachael Flatt Makes Olympic Debut Today!

Rachael Flatt holds on to her ice skates in this new pic from the 2010 Olympics photo shoot.

The 17-year-old national champion will make her Olympic debut today alongside Mirai Nagasu.

Rachael recently caught up with the NY Times about taking the gold home, “It would be nice for me to have those titles. But that’s not what it’s about for me. I do the best I can and if a medal comes with that, then great. I remember watching Sarah Hughes at the 2002 Olympics and I thought, I’d love to be in that position. I feel like I could totally do what she did.”

Both Rachael and Mirai will skate today during the Ladie’s Short Program. Check your local listings to see when it’s on in your region.

I guess gold medal pairs winners Shen And Zhao proved youth wasn’t everything. (Maybe their coach, Yao Bin, was).

Still, Sasha Cohen probably would have been hard pressed to win. Gonna be watching Rachael Flatt compete tonight in the Ladie’s Short Program.

‘Nuff said, don’t wanna jinx it.

    Anyway, glad she’s there.
