Nicholas Galitzine Talks Thoughts Of Being a Popstar, Teases New Music Is Coming

Nicholas Galitzine is opening up about his career prospects.

The 29-year-old actor has seemingly had non-stop projects come out over the past year and he was recently asked about if he ever thought of becoming a recording artist.

In his upcoming movie The Idea of You, he plays the lead singer of fictional boy band August Moon, and he previously showed off his vocals in the Prime Video Cinderella movie musical.

“I mean, it’s something that I’ve flirted with for a while,” Nicholas said on SiriusXm’s The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw about thoughts of being a recording artist. “I think, you know, especially in the last few years, I’ve been very lucky that acting has taken up all of my time. I think there’s just an immense amount of work that goes into being in a musician and I mean, being a recording artist is one thing, but being a performer as well.”

Nicholas also touched on what it was like filming the Coachella scenes in The Idea of You.

“I mean, we did these Coachella scenes in front of about 500 extras, which is a lot, but, you know, compared to these actual audiences of 60,000 or whatever is nothing and still, I mean, it was such a joy, nerve-wracking, fulfilled a lot of childhood dreams. I think we all did, you know, doing that, but I mean, it’s such a different beast to being an actor, you know,” he said.

“The first take I was just completely breaking it and then the second take I was, you know, still a little bit and then the third, we just started really getting into it and interacting with the audience, and there was a sort of a section where I have to kind of jump down and I’m getting my shirt pulled out and everything and it was very realistic,” Nicholas added. “I had so much fun doing it, honestly. I think it very much solidified a want to do more of that in my own capacity, which is cool.”
