Meet Matthew Levy!
The 16-year-old Chicago-born actor caught up with JJJ recently to chat about his new FOX sitcom, Sons of Tucson, which is produced by Malcolm in the Middle alum, Justin Berfield.
Matt let us in on the fun the cast had around set, what the show was all about and just why you should watch the premiere tonight on FOX. Check it:
On what the show is all about: “It’s a comedy that premieres tonight on FOX. It’s about three brothers who are living in Tucson now after their father goes to prison for a white-collar crime. To avoid getting split up by child services they have to hire a fake dad.”
On getting in touch with his childhood: “The house that we occupy in the show is always in this childish state. There’s toys everywhere because there’s no real parental figure in the house. On set, it looked like someone just raided a Toys-R-Us. There were all these Nerf guns and toys from before my generation and we definitely adopted those toys. We would be in between takes and all of the sudden, a Nerf dart would go flying across your face. Action figures, that no one knew how to work, would start making sounds all the time (laughs).”
On his character, Brandon Gunderson: “He’s the oldest of the three brothers. He’s very easy-going and optimistic. He has this unique look on the world; always remains positive in any situation. He’s more of a lover than a fighter.”
Sons of Tucson premieres TONIGHT @ 9:30PM ET/PT on FOX.
