Kaya Scodelario: 'Wuthering Heights' London Premiere!

Kaya Scodelario lines up in a row with costar Nicola Burley at the premiere of Wuthering Heights during the 55th BFI London Film Festival held at the Curzon Mayfair on Saturday night (October 22) in London.

The 19-year-old actress tweeted that she took her mom to the big event: “On route to the Wuthering Heights premier in London with my mummy, she looks unbelievably beautiful!”

Kaya told The List about preparing for the period piece, “I didn’t read the book before shooting the film, and I didn’t watch any of the previous film or TV versions. [Director] Andrea [Arnold] said not to drive myself crazy worrying about how somebody did the role 20 years ago. We weren’t even given full scripts, just the lines the day before. Once it came out that the actor playing Heathcliff, James Howson, was black, I realised what a big thing the story was. I realised that this version was going to divide people, but I’d much rather do something that gets people thinking and stirs things up a bit.”
