How Adam Irigoyen Met Hailee Steinfeld

If you follow Hailee Steinfeld or Adam Irigoyen on Twitter, you know the two are super close friends. But did you ever wonder how they really met?

Adam, 14, told us the story at the 2011 Power of Youth event, where Hailee was honored for her work with No Kid Hungry.

“We met three years ago and we met at an acting class and we kind of just became friends, you know?” Adam told us. “Her parents kind of took us [my family] under their wings and guided us with what to do and what not to do. I’m very grateful to Hailee. She’s my best friend. She’s like my sister.”

Adam even told us a fun story about last year’s Power of Youth event: “It was hysterical last year. We were here together and we were looking at all the people giving the speeches and like, Justin Bieber gave a speech last year and we were literally looking to see who got the biggest clap [it was David Henrie]. It was really hysterical so I’m going to mess with her this year and say somebody else got a bigger clap than she did.”
