Quvenzhane Wallis: Power of Youth 2013

Quvenzhane Wallis is pretty in pink at Variety’s 2013 Power of Youth held at Universal Studios on Saturday afternoon (July 27) in Universal City, Calif.

The nine-year-old actress is being honored for her work with the American Heart Association’s Teaching Gardens.

“I like gardening, and I’m putting one in the back yard of my house,” Quvenzhane revealed. “I’m planting lettuce, carrots and all kinds of vegetables from seed packets. Since my mom likes to cook lots of fresh vegetables, it just makes sense. I’ll be helping other kids plant their own gardens after school, so it’s very exciting.”
