Meryl Davis & Charlie White Win First Ice Dancing Gold Medal For USA at Sochi Olympics!

Meryl Davis and Charlie White wave to the crowd inside the Iceberg Palace during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics after grabbing gold on Monday night (February 17) in Sochi, Russia.

The ice dancers earned a whopping total of 195.52 to grab the gold medal — the first gold medal in ice dancing that the United States has ever won.

Canada’s Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, the Vancouver Winter Olympics Gold Medalists and Meryl and Charlie‘s training mates (they share a coach!), grabbed silver with Russia’s Elena Ilinykh and Nikita Katsalapov grabbed bronze.

Madison Chock and Evan Bates placed 8th, and the ShibSibs, Alex and Maia, placed 9th.

Congrats to all!
