Mo'ne Davis Gets Disney Channel Original Movie Treatment

Congrats to Mo’ne Davis — she’s getting her own Disney Channel Original Movie!

Disney Channel is in development on Throw Like Mo, a biographical movie that will tell the inspiring story of Mo’ne, the 13-year-old sports prodigy who made history in August 2014 as the first female to pitch a shutout in the Little League World Series.

Mo’ne, who will consult on the flick, was also the first Little League player to ever make the cover of Sports Illustrated.

“There are so many great things happening to me right now and it’s a very exciting time in my life. A year ago, I never would have thought that Disney Channel would make a movie about me. I can’t wait to get started and I hope it will encourage other viewers to believe that dreams really do come true,” Mo’ne shared in a statement.
