Cody Simpson Plays Private Rooftop Concert After Special Olympics 'Reach Up' Song Debut
Cody Simpson flashes his peace sign during a private concert at Zerzura at the Gansevoort in New York City on Tuesday night (June 16).
The 18-year-old musician performed his new songs “Thotful” and “Flower” as well as covering Elvis Presley‘s “Hound Dog” and “Baby What You Want Me to Do”.
Just the day before, Cody joined Marc Roberge of O.A.R., and Special Olympians Madison and Bree on Good Morning America to debut the official song of the games, “Reach Up”.
“I remember her mom saying, ‘Madison just be yourself,” Marc shared in a recent interview. “Have fun, smile and do it the way you’d do at home.’ After that, she seemed to almost forget there was a microphone in front of her she was singing for the love of singing. I remember watching her and having a smile I couldn’t control. By the end of the day, my cheeks were tired. It felt like Thanksgiving.”
