Raini Rodriguez Writes Tumblr Post About Female Empowerment: 'No Matter What You Look Like, It Doesn't Define You'
After recieving an anonymous message on her official blog, the 21-year-old Austin & Ally actress replied back with a great letter about not letting what you look like define who you are.
“Growing up, we as people are taught that if we don’t look or act a certain way we’ll never fit in or succeed like the group of people who are that way. You’ve always had the ability to be whoever you want to be. Whether you’re a short Latina with crazy curly hair and chubby cheeks or a super tall girl with beautiful blue eyes. YOU CAN DO ANYTHING. Never for one second think you can’t fit into society because you don’t look or act the way everyone else does,” she wrote.
Raini added, “I was raised in a house of nothing but boys so I was raised to have the mentally [mentality] that I can do anything because I just can. Even though I’m a girl I can do anything. I believe it was Sarah Silverman who said ‘Stop telling girls they can be anything they want to be because we’ve always thought that regardless.’ And it’s completely true.”
