Cody Simpson stops to chat with fans while arriving at The Today Show studios on Monday morning (July 13) in New York City.
The 18-year-old Aussie singer performed his song “New Problems” and opened up about leaving his label.
“Honestly, I got signed pretty young, on my 13th birthday actually. From Australia, came here to New York…so the past five years have been a real experience,” Cody said. “When I turned 18, it hit me a little bit. I had a realization…I had to take a step back. This is my first independent album.”
